Our general dentists provide a full range of general dentistry services for you and your family, and we’ll do it with a calming, unhurried approach so even the most nervous patients feel comfortable.

Some of our most common treatments are listed below.

Checkup and clean

Regular dental check-ups and cleanings are fundamental to maintaining optimal oral health. At our clinic, we ensure your visit will be comfortable, thorough and tailored to meet your dental needs.

What to expect during your
Check up and clean

For our New Patients, our check and clean appointment is much more thorough than your routine dental visits – this is to make sure we don’t miss anything when we are meeting you (and your teeth) for the first time!

The first appointment can involve the following records to be taken:

  • Full set of clinical photos
  • Dental x-rays
  • A Trios digital scan of your mouth (to compare any future changes to your teeth such as grinding wear/tear or drifting/moving of your teeth positioning)

The check-up will then be followed by our scale and clean to remove stains and focus on those hard to reach areas where your regular at-home oral care won’t easily reach. For maximum prevention, we apply a fluoride treatment to strengthen your teeth and protect it against cavities.

Dental fillings

Did you know if dental decay is small to medium in size it won’t cause any pain? Tooth fillings are done to remove the dental decay in the tooth before it gets large and starts causing pain. Dental fillings are very versatile and can also be used for aesthetics to fix chipped front teeth, or to bring back function/bite for broken and worn-down back teeth. At your check-up appointment, Your Dentist will go through any teeth that require dental fillings.

What is a
tooth filling treatment

Tooth fillings are a common and effective treatment used to restore teeth damaged by decay back to their normal function and shape. When a cavity forms, it creates a hole in the tooth that can lead to further decay and discomfort if left untreated. A filling helps to close this hole, preventing bacteria from entering and causing more damage.

Treatment is quite straightforward: our dentists will first examine and prepare your tooth to determine the extent of the decay. Then, we will remove the decayed portion of the tooth and thoroughly clean the site -we use special cavity dyes to make sure all the decayed and softened tooth structure is removed. Lastly, we’ll fill the hole with a dental filling material, and shape and polish your tooth. We use high quality, high-strength products and aim to match the tooth filling to your natural tooth colour: nobody will ever know you’ve had a filling unless you tell them.

Dental crowns

Dental crowns are a simple solution for restoring damaged or weakened teeth. A tooth-shaped, custom-made cap will be placed over your tooth to restore its shape, size, strength, and appearance. Once cemented in place, a dental crown will surround your entire visible part of your tooth.

You may need a dental crown if your tooth is weakened by decay, cracks or large fillings. If your tooth is already broken or severely worn down, a crown can restore its structure and functionality. A dental crown can also be used to anchor dental bridges, filling gaps left by missing teeth, and can cover misshaped or severely discoloured teeth.

The dental crown
process

Once your tooth has been prepared, we’ll take a scan of your tooth to create a digital model using our highly advanced Trios intraoral scanner – no more uncomfortable, messy physical impressions! A temporary crown is then placed over your tooth to protect it whilst your permanent crown is custom-made at our trusted, partered dental lab. This process usually takes a couple of weeks.

Once your permanent crown is ready, we’ll remove the temporary crown and cement your new crown in place.

Root canal treatment

Root canal treatment is often misunderstood and feared, but advancements in dental technology and anaesthesia can make it a comfortable and effective procedure. It can be a good solution to keeping your natural tooth, as opposed to going through a tooth extraction. If you have a heavily decayed or infected tooth, you may require a root canal treatment. What is
root canal treatment

A root canal treatment is a procedure aimed at saving a tooth that is severely infected or damaged. When the pulp (the soft tissue inside the tooth) becomes infected or inflamed due to deep decay or repeated dental procedures, a root canal treatment can help alleviate pain and restore the tooth’s health.

During the procedure, the infected pulp is carefully removed, and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and disinfected. The space is then filled with a special material to seal it and prevent further infection. Finally, the tooth is restored with a crown or filling for protection and to restore its function.
